Abstract

Background

Jejunoileal intussusceptions are among the rarest types of small bowel intussusceptions, which are far less prevalent than ileocolic ones. We got a case of 56 years old female with a jejunoileal intussusception with a polyp. Clinical examination, USG and CT has confirmed the intussusception.

Methods

OT was done under spinal anesthesia

Results

The emergency OT was done by Dr. Sajib Chatterjee and Dr. Dattatreya Mukherjee. We have separated the two parts of small intestine. Then we found a polyp, because of which the intussusception occurred. We have resected the Polyp and we have done the anastomosis to join the two parts of the intestine. In the post operative phase, patient had done well and after 7 days the patient got discharged. Patient is currently under regular OPD basis follow up.

Conclusions

Adult Intussusception is a rare case. The case Images will be shared in the slides.
